SIDEWALK DECALS

The ad that lives where feet land.

SIDEWALK DECAL ADVERTISING

Sidewalk decals turn foot traffic into impressions. Full-color, full-bleed brand footprints printed on non-slip vinyl and applied directly to city sidewalks, plazas, and building entries — placed where eye-level media can’t reach and phones are already pointed down.

WILD POSTING® plans, produces, and deploys sidewalk decal campaigns in major U.S. and international markets, with a focus on foot-traffic placement, compliance, and clean removal.

TYPES OF SIDEWALK DECALS

Vinyl Decals

Full-color, die-cut decals printed on pressure-sensitive non-slip vinyl with a matte laminate. Designed for maximum visual impact on high-traffic concrete and asphalt. Residue-free removal within 30–90 days.

Chalk Stencils

Water-soluble chalk sprayed through custom stencils. A permit-friendly format that washes off in the next rain or with a hose. Ideal for event wayfinding, pop-ups, and campuses where vinyl isn't allowed.

Reverse Graffiti

Art by removal. A stencil is cut and dirty pavement is pressure-washed clean, leaving the logo as the clean surface. Because nothing is added, most jurisdictions treat it as cleaning rather than advertising.

Paint Stencils

Industrial traffic paint applied through custom stencils. The original guerrilla format — sharpest edges, longest life, highest commitment. Reserved for long-run campaigns on approved private surfaces.

Sidewalk Decals as Part of a Larger OOH Strategy

Sidewalk decals are most effective when used as part of a broader out-of-home campaign. Many brands pair sidewalk placements with Wild Posting® to combine vertical, eye-level impact with horizontal, point-of-entry messaging.

This layered approach drives frequency, reinforces messaging, and turns an entire neighborhood — from wall to pavement — into branded environment.

Side Walk Decals FAQs

Are sidewalk decals legal?

It depends on the city and the surface. Private property with owner consent is nearly always clear. Public right-of-way rules vary by market, which is why we scout and secure approvals before every install. Chalk and reverse graffiti are treated more permissively than vinyl or paint in most jurisdictions.

How long do they last?

Vinyl decals typically last 30–90 days depending on foot traffic, weather, and surface condition. Chalk lasts days to weeks, reverse graffiti 2–8 weeks, and traffic paint 3–6 months. We recommend a format based on campaign duration and market.

Will they damage the sidewalk?

No. Vinyl peels cleanly with no residue, chalk washes away, and reverse graffiti is pure cleaning. Paint stencils are reserved for private, paint-ready surfaces with owner permission. Every campaign ends with professional removal and a photo-documented site walkthrough.
